![]() They each have independent health and magic meters, and if one perishes you'll have to get by with whoever's left until you reach the next checkpoint. If you're playing Trine by yourself the three characters inhabit one body and you can switch between them on the fly. A lot of the green vials that contain precious experience points are hidden, so there are many secrets to be found for players that want to put in the effort. Along the way they'll solve puzzles, kill lots of skeletons, and earn experience points that can be spent to gain new skills. Our heroes' goal is to free themselves from the curse that has bound them together and rid the land of the usual evil that has consumed it. The thief can then grapple to it, and the block's momentum will allow her to jump to a previously unreachable area. The wizard might be able to get a hanging block swinging from side to side. There are instances, though, where you'll have to use multiple characters in tandem to proceed. Most predicaments can be solved in multiple ways and you could make it though most of the game with just the thief or the wizard (the knight is really only useful in combat). ![]() A typical example of the sort of puzzles the trio will encounter would be a seemingly impassable chasm - the thief could use her grappling hook to swing across or the wizard could summon a plank and stroll to the other side. The thief and knight give players the choice to use ranged or melee combat, and both can be equally effective. And the knight is the fighter of the group, best used for hacking through the undead army plaguing the world. The wizard can move objects with his mind and summon blocks or bridges. ![]() The thief wields a bow and arrow and can grapple to wooden surfaces. Each has their own abilities they can use to traverse the game's environments and dispatch of enemies. ![]() Switch to the Wizard and use levitate to lift the platform's "legs" in order to move across the gas and move on to the next level.Gamers have control of three unique characters: a thief, a wizard, and a knight. Operate the huge switch to move through the gate. Once you get the pattern, he goes down quite fast. Now take advantage of this to attack him with either the Knight or the Thief, though I found this fight easier with the Thief's arrows. Ignore the switch for now, and when the Goblin King swings at you, try to get him to hit something made of wood. Now you've met the biggest Goblin ever, the Goblin King. After this you'll drop down into a big chamber. Now place the big crate from the ground level onto the highest platform, slide it as far as you can to the right, and use it to leap to the leaf. Use the Wizard's levitate ability to move the leaf over the log, causing the water to spill back and forth down toward the sparkles below. Use two crates to weigh down the ramp on the left of the log pipe, then one to weigh down the left side of the log pipe itself. The next section you will enter is puzzle involving plant-watering. Feel free to let them kill as many Goblins, as they will eventually walk out in front of them. Watch them closely and time your jumps correctly to avoid dying here. After clearing out this wave, hop across the dropping platforms ahead and dodge the swinging logs with spikes on them, they're quite deadly. Move along and you'll soon face another wave of Goblins. Levitate the bottom log to water the plant. Climb through the log and use a crate to change the flow of the water. Rebuild it to make it shoot air into the water, producing bubbles that will float you up toward the next section. At the bottom right here you'll see a wind pipe. When you reach a retracted platform, you'll be forced to fight another wave of Goblins. Move on, staying up high to avoid taking any damage. This is the second chest you should have found, and contains the second collectible in Trine 2. After you've killed them all, switch to the Thief and jump up and climb across the dropping platforms back toward your left to find a Chest. As you move on, you will drop down and confront a group of Goblins, including two Goblin Archers directly above you. Use the two crates given to you plus one conjured one in order to cross the next gas pit. These platforms of course drop every few seconds, so timing means everything here. The pit beneath you if filled with Gas, so instead of jumping into it and sacrificing yourself to the Goblin King, time your jump carefully, and leap onto the platform ahead. ![]() Mosslight Marsh is the fourth level in Trine 2.īelow is a table which shows the total amount of level experience, monster experience, and secrets that can be found in this level. ![]()
